Lahore: Rubbishing media reports ruling him out for the first Test against England with a groin injury, Mohammed Sami said it was only a niggle
The Pakistani pacer said he expects to be fully fit before the match starting on November 12 in Multan.
Pakistan Cricket Board Director (Cricket Operations) Saleem Altaf said that the pacer had informed PCB that his groin injury was not serious.
"Sami said it is nothing serious. He has had an ultrasound to confirm the gravity of the groin problem and nothing has shown up. He is resting and we have 10 more days to go before the first Test," Altaf said.
"Sami has been directed to rest for few days and advised to see the doctor. He feels that he would be fit before the first Test," he added.
On Abdul Razzak who is battling an elbow injury and is likely to sit out, he said that the allrounder is recovering and there is no pain.
"The team trainer and physio and our Board doctor are keeping a watch on Razzaq and in fact today he said he was feeling better. He will have a final check-up after which we will know his correct fitness position," he informed.
He, however, admitted that it would take at least two weeks for the youngster to fully overcome the injury.
