HYDERABAD: A scavenger working in a private school at Bairamalguda was arrested on Thursday for allegedly molested a girl studying in class II, when the latter went to the wash room on Wednesday.Infuriated over the incident, parents of the student and locals thrashed the accused and damaged school furniture leading to tension in the locality.According to Saroornagar police, the seven-year-old girl went to the wash room in school premises on Wednesday around 1.30 p.m.“A 25-year-old person, Aman is working as a scavenger and he was present in the wash room when the girl went inside.Aman allegedly caught hold of the girl and molested her,’’ Saroornagar police inspector K Purnachanar Rao said.The girl, however, escaped from clutches of Aman and rushed out.Police said the girl did not inform the matter to school authorities.The incident took place at the Akruthi High School at Bairamalguda in Saroornagar.On Thursday when the girl’s parents asked her to get ready for school, the girl said she won’t go.The girl’s father works in a MNC in city.The girl’s parents rushed to the school and took up the issue with the management.Soon locals also reached the place and in a fit of rage, thrashed Aman and also broke school furniture.Police rushed to the place and pacified them.Based on complaint by parents of the girl, police registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with an intention to outrage her modesty) and arrested Aman.Hailing from New Delhi, Aman had come to the city two years back and did some petty jobs before getting employed at the school as a scavenger.
