CHENNAI: A 16-year-old girl hanged herself in her classroom at Gummidipoondi on Friday and left behind a suicide note. Police are probing the cause for her suicide, based on the note Police said Kausalya (16) of Mangalapuram, Gummidipoondi, a class 10 student with the Government Higher Secondary School in her area had on Friday morning left for school much earlier than her sisters Anita, a plus one student, and Priyanka, studying in class eight. Kausalya was later found hanging from the ceiling fan in her classroom, with her ‘dupatta’ used as a noose. Students who came in for regular classes ran out of the classroom seeing the girl hanging. Police recovered her body and sent it to government hospital. They are investigating the reason behind the girl’s suicide and suspect she might have had problems at home or at school. Police sources said that Kausalya had left a suicide note that was found in her bag which was addressed to her mother, in which she says she loved her mother and would do anything for her and would not be able to bear it if anything happened to her. In another suicide note, Kausalya mentioned the name of a girl, and the police are investigating the matter, sources said.
