New Delhi: A three and a half-year-old child got under the school van and died on Tuesday in New Delhi. The driver, after dropping the child, while reversing accidentally mowed down the kid.
"The driver was impatient & in a hurry. He dropped off my child, but before he could walk away, ran the van over him. My son died because of his recklessness. I always used to ask him to drive more carefully, he would always drive fast," a dejected father said.
The victim, identified as Aviral was a student of John Wesley School and he was dropped off by his school van around 2 pm outside his house in Shri Ram Railway Colony.
The child was rushed to Parmanand Hospital where he was declared brought dead," deputy commissioner of police (North) Madhur Verma said.
There had been complaints of rash driving against the driver in the past and he was arrested under IPC 279 and 304A after the kid lost his life due to reckless driving and negligence.
