Mumbai: In a breakthrough in the Sheena Bora murder case, the Mumbai Police on Monday traced Indrani Mukherjea's first husband Siddartha Das, said sources. A team of Mumbai Police is likely to leave for Kolkata and will question him, sources added.
Earlier, Indrani's former brother-in-law Shantanu Das had claimed that Sheena was his brother Siddartha Das's daughter. He said, "Sheena is my brother Siddartha Das' daughter with Indrani Mukherjea. Yes, I met Sheena and Indrani around 1989 when Sheena was 6 months old. I have not met Mikhail.
"My family lost touch with my brother Siddartha in the last 8-10 years. My mother is unwell and has not taken well to the news," Shantanu added.
The police on Sunday had seized a suitcase that was purportedly meant for packing the body of Sheena's brother Mikhail Bora whom Indrani had allegedly planned to kill. The accused were also taken to Raigad to re-create the crime scene at the same spot where Sheena's body was allegedly dumped.
The new twist in the probe came when Mikhail claimed that his mother Indrani had planned to kill him also on April 23, 2012, when she had given him a spiked drink.
