New Delhi: Shilpa Shetty is flying high.
Riding the crest of international fame after an episode of racist attack on her on British television Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother reality show, the Bollywood star visited the British House of Commons on Wednesday to attend a lunch hosted in her honour by NRI MP Keith Vaz.
It was Vaz who had raised the issue of Shilpa's treatment during Prime Minister's questions in the House last month.
The former minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Office had moved the Early Day Motion on the issue, prompting Prime Minister Tony Blair to comment that racism should be opposed in all its forms.
Shilpa was all smiles when she arrived at House of Commons early on Wednesday, but details of the event are still awaited. She was scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Tony Blair at the lunch at the House of Commons.
Shilpa was also expected to watch the Prime Minister's question hour during her Parliament visit.
The 31-year-old actress was at the centre of a storm over alleged racist bullying on television show. Shilpa has already been invited to a reception to mark Commonwealth Day on March 12 where she would come face to face with the Queen.
