Squall accompanied by thundershowers on Friday continued to affect advent of southwest monsoon in Rajasthan even as light to moderate rains lash parts of the state.
According to MeT office, light to moderate rains occurred at isolated places in Jaipur, Alwar, and Bharatpur districts during the last 24 hours with Pilani recording the maximum rainfall of 5.1 mm.
Mercury slightly rose at some places in western Rajasthan by one to two degrees Celsius as Kota was the hottest place with the maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees C, followed by Churu 41.5, and Chittorgarh 41 degrees C, it said.
Elsewhere, the maximum temperature varied from 37 to 40.8 degrees C at many places, including Ajmer, Pilani, Udaipur, Barmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Srigangangar.
Jaipur received scattered drizzles at some places in the city with a maximum rainfall of 0.5 mm, it said.
According to a MeT office forecast, squall due to Western Disturbances has hit the prospects of SW monsoon in the state and it may continue during the next 24 hours too.
