TUMKUR: Deputy Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly T B Jayachandra, while expressing concern at the possible horse trading of legislators between warring BJP factions, appealed to Governor H R Bhardwaj to curb such activities. He addressed the media here on Friday that the two BJP groups led by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa might resort to such tactics. Questioning Yeddyurappa’s claim as the undisputed leader of the Lingayats, he pointed out that the former CM ignored Jagadish Shettar when there was an opportunity to make him the chief minister.“Yeddyurappa, who once installed Gowda as the chief minister and now wishes to unseat him, is like the mythological character Kansa,” he added.Jayachandra said that he will file implead the HC following the PIL filed by BJP leader Krishnakumar to stall the Hemavathy river water project at Modaluru tank in Sira taluk. Casting aspersions on flow of water from Cauvery to the Krishna basin, he said the project will affect ater supply to Tumkur and Kunigal towns. The Karnataka High Court had served notice to the state’s attorney general; the case is expected to come up for hearing on March 6.
