This way, it not only caters to the taste buds of these foodies, but also benefits the street vendors because they bring in a lot of business.Apart from Ramzan cravings, monsoons accentuates the craving for hot bites and street vendors take full advantage of the season to put up a stall in every nook and corner of the city.“Ramzan is the time when I can freely hog onto noodles and pizzas with extra topping of cheese and not think of the calorie intake to stay in shape,” says Sana, an aspiring model in the city. The vendors open separate counters for special items and also include new items in their menu to entertain the fast food lovers.Mohamed Hali, a vendor at the Badi Masjid Road, says, “My average sales of Rs 3,000 a day shot up to Rs 5,000 this month. I start business around 6 pm and earn a sum of Rs 5,000 from selling around 300 plates and retire by 10 at night.”Street vendors experiment with existing dishes and improvise their services with parcels and door delivery.“ The fast food joints at Abids are popular for their vegetarian Haleem, which keeps the vegetarians satisfied, who leave the vendors rolling with money. Believe it or not, Ramzan is sure a lucky charm to fast food business."
