Suspended IPS Officer RK Shivhare, who is an accused in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) case, on Monday surrendered in Bhopal at the office of Special Task Force (STF).
The STF had announced a reward of Rs 3,000 against Shivhare, who was posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) but absconded after the probe agency registered a case against him and directed him to appear before it. Later, he was suspended and was evading summons.
Shivhare is an accused in pre-post graduate exam for post-graduate courses in the medical stream in which his daughter and son-in-law (both medical students) were already named as accused, police sources said.
Besides, he was also allegedly involved in the irregularities in the recruitment of subedar or sub-inspector and platoon commander examination of 2012 conducted by the MPPEB.
STF officials are questioning Shivhare on the issue and will produce him in a court on Tuesday, sources said.
