CHENNAI: The DMDK, the main opposition party in the State Assembly, on Tuesday urged the government to take suo motu action checking collection of exorbitant fees from students by private schools and colleges.Speaking on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address in the State Assembly, DMDK member K Pandiyarajan said parents were very worried about the fee structure. “The government should take suo motu action against schools which violate the fee structure fixed by the government,” he said.Welcoming the announcement made in the Governor’s address that a Vision 2025 document would be prepared for the development of the State, Pandiyarajan said the document should also take into account human development indices.He said ship building, nanotechnology and biotechnolgoy were the three sectors where Tamil Nadu was in the forefront and the government should put these to use in making Tamil Nadu India’s numero uno State.
