HYDERABAD: The businessmen-turned-politicians in the Telugu Desam are reluctant to declare their assets as wanted by party president N Chandrababu Naidu. According to sources, the TDP chief held a meeting with party MPs at his residence here on Sunday and asked them to follow his example and disclose their assets. However, those doing business or contracts among them were reluctant to do so.Naidu insisted that they too disclose their assets publicly. But, MPs including Ramesh Rathod from Adilabad, who do not have any businesses, were ready to disclose their assets. Rathod said that he would make public his assets soon as directed by the party chief. However, the MPs owning business said that they had also submitted lists of their assets to Parliament and to the Election Commission before filing nomination papers. They made it clear to Naidu that there was no need to disclose the assets afresh. The MPs were also unwilling to disclose the assets of the members of their respective families as did by Naidu. Naidu was unhappy with the performance of his MPs in the recent session of Parliament.
