New Delhi: The members of Team Anna, in its core committee meeting on Saturday, decided not to dissolve the core committee. Members of Anna Hazare's team had met to discuss the ongoing controversies surrounding them, but without the social activist Anna Hazare himself.
Prashant Bhushan, Shanti Bhushan, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Bedi were present at the meeting, while activist Medha Patkar and Santosh Hegde did not attend the meeting.
The sticking points in the meeting were Prashant Bhushan's comments on Kashmir and Anna's repeated objections to this, the anti-Congress campaign in Hisar which saw the exit of two team members and the embarrassment caused by the scandal involving Kiran Bedi.
Befrore the meeting, Kiran Bedi said, "I am not aware of the agenda of the meeting, we are just meeting to speak to each other and express views. We are all activists and there is no crack in the movement, we just express our own views."
Manish Sisodia said that there was a need to widen the team as the government was targeting individuals. "We are meeting today because the government is trying to deviate from the whole issue, so we think we should widen our team," he said.
With two key member Patkar and Kumar Viswas demanding "overhaul" of the Core Committee, journalist Raju Parulkar, who is Hazare's official blogger, had said on Friday that the core committee of Team Anna will be expanded soon.
He, however, declined to go into details of when and how the revamp will take place.
