Techie, wife held for abusing 15-year-old maid

Bangalore: A techie and his wife were today arrested for allegedly physically abusing their teenage maid.

Thirty-two-year-old Pallav Chakravarthy, who is working as a software engineer with Infosys Technologies Limited and his wife Sinchita (28) were taken into custody for physically abusing the 15-year-old domestic help, police said.

The teenager, who has been admitted to a government hospital for burns, told police that the duo used to physically abuse her and had poured hot oil on her back.

The duo were produced before the jurisdictional magistrate, police said, adding a case under Juvenile Justice Act and IPC has been registered against them.
