Telangana violence: HC seeks list of accused

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court comprising chief justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru and justice Vilas Afzalpurkar on Tuesday asked the state government to provide it with the list of persons against whom criminal action or investigation was initiated for acts of violence during the Telangana agitation earlier in the year.The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by J.Narayana Swami who complained that even the working of the courts, especially in Ranga Reddy district, was affected and the government was being a mute spectator. He said people were facing hardships due to frequent bandh calls which resulted in closure of educational institutions and disruption of essential services and non-availability of essential goods like petrol. The government was granted two weeks’ to produce the list.
