Thief beaten to death by villagers

MAHABOOBNAGAR: An unidentified person was beaten to death by locals when he was caught committing theft in Bhagyanagar Colony of Shadnagar mandal in Mahaboobnagar district in the wee hours of Thursday.The Shadnagar police who rushed to the spot are trying to identify the victim.According to Shadnagar circle inspector Naveen Reddy, the man came to the colony in the wee hours and made away with booty from two houses.However, after committing theft in the third house in the same colony, a few residents who woke up to the sounds raised an alarm. He was beaten black and blue by the residents.A few minutes later, he fell unconscious, after which locals reported incident to police. Even before the police arrived, the victim died due to fatal injuries.Police registered a case and are trying to identify the victim.
