Sampath Kumar is a retired PE teacher from Karimnagar, Telangana. He has been getting attention for his excellent mimicry skills, which has left people shocked. He’s able to mimic the voices of children, adults as well as many film heroes. That’s not all, he can mimic the screams of birds and animals. In an interview with Local 18, Sampath Kumar shared that he used to work as a Physical Education Teacher at a government school. He used to teach yoga and karate to children as a teacher. He also taught meditation and games to the students. Speaking of mimicry, he shared that he began practising on his own. He retired in June 2010 and also enjoys his free time writing poetry and essays in Telugu, English and Hindi languages. As an International Master in Karate and Yoga, he has also written 46 books till now.
Sampath Kumar mentioned in the interview, “I have never taken any formal training in mimicry. I just observe and learn and now it has become a habit." So far, he has written books like Arogya Yoga, Yoga Shikshana Deepika, Martial Arts, Yoga Asanas, Sampurna Yogasana Vignana Jyothi, Self-Defense, Youthfulness through Yoga and Yoga: The Universal Disease Preventive to name a few.
He is also the recipient of several state-level awards including the Best Teacher Award, PV Narasimha Rao Life Achievement Award, Duddilla Sripada Rao Memorial Life Achievement Award 2024, Sakala Kala Vallabha, Yoga Vachaspati, and Dr Sarvepalli Safalya Award. At the age of 70, he is excelling in various fields with his varied talent.
In a recent video, he was seen mimicking the renowned Indian actor and film producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao, widely known as ANR. He is a recognised personality in the Telugu film industry.
Sampath Kumar is truly an inspiration for all generations, with his unique set of talents ranging from sports and creativity to mimicry.
