New Delhi: In a bid to reach out to more people, Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar has entered the world of social networking by logging into twitter.
Kumar, who assumed office as Delhi Police Commissioner on June 30, started his twitter account - delhipolice2 - on July 13 and has had four tweets in the past five days. In his first tweet on June 13, he sought support from public for Delhi Police's initiative "Yuva" which is aimed at engaging street children and young adults in constructive activities to wean them away from crime.
The second tweet talked about 'Jan Sampark', an outreach programme to engage community in a big way. Kumar will attend such a programme tomorrow in Nizamuddin Basti.
Former cop Kiran Bedi welcome Kumar on Twitter and had sound advice for him. "@delhipolice2 am glad to see u Neeraj. Bring in effective beat officer system and encourage info about crime/criminals for prevention," she said.
