HYDERABAD: Inviting businessmen to invest in Ukraine, ambassador of Ukraine to India Oleksandr Shevchenko said a meeting of the bilateral commission is likely to be held in April in India.Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma and Minister for External Affairs SM Krishna are scheduled to participate in the meeting, the ambassador said.At a press conference during his four-day visit to the city, the ambassador said, “A large number of pharmaceutical companies have expressed interest in Ukraine as the market for medicines manufactured in India keeps growing in Ukraine.The fact that Tata Group has a large interest in Ukraine speaks for itself.” The bilateral trade turnover between India and Ukraine stands at a little over $3 billion in 2011 from a total foreign trade turnover of $150 billion, he added.Stressing the need for technology transfer collaborations between Ukraine and India, Shevchenko identified mining, power generation and aerospace technology for future tie-ups.The country is also looking at relaxing the visa regime for Indian representatives.The ambassador is to meet chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu today.
