The state has allocated Rs 880 crore for flood control measures in calamity-hit areas on which work will start soon, official sources said quoting the Chief Minister.
To speed up work on approved flood control projects worth Rs 290 crore, 10 posts of Chief Engineers have been created.
These officials will be deployed in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Shrinagar, Rudraprayag, Roorkee and Didihaat, sources said.
