Vishu edition of Pookalam released

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy released the Vishu-edition of Pookalam, online magazine of Malayalam Mission.  He said that steps would be taken to give special consideration and protection to Malayalam language. CM hoped that Malayalam language would soon get a classical status.  “I have talked to the Prime Minister in this regard,” he said. A Malayalam University too would come up soon, the CM added.  Minister for Culture K C Jospeh inaugurated the website of Malayalam Mission. Poet Sugathakumari, director of Institute of Languages M R Thampan and Malayalam Mission director Sajan Peter spoke. The magazine will be available in pookalam.kerala.gov.in
