New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the new icon for the cricket-crazy fans.

A Team India is in the middle of a break, it's was an ideal opportunity for Dhoni to fulfil his commitments to the sponsors.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was in New Delhi for the inauguration of a showroom for Reebok.

"If you want to buy something, buy it wether you wear it or not. Agar aapko accha lagta hai to kharid lo. Baad mein dekha jayega ki pahenna hai ki nahi (But the think and then think if you want to wear it or not)," Dhoni said.

He was part of the Indian team that created history by winning a Test series in the West Indies after a gap of 35 years.

Though he didn't have a very successful series but believes that the team picked up critical clues for the World Cup.

"Jab hum tour per gaye the tab hamne bola tha ki ye tour bahut special rahega. India mein sab ne yehi bola ke wahan per bahut fast aur bouncy track hote hain. Per wahan completely different story thi. Kafi slow wickets the aur later part of the innings mein ball bat per aata nahi hai (We had said that the West Indies tour would be very special. Everybody said that the pitches there were very fast and bouncy. But we saw that the pitches have become slow and the ball does not come onto the bat). I think it will really help us in the World Cup next year. Let's hope for the best," Dhoni said.

But before the World Cup, there is plenty of cricket to look forward to and the next destination is Sri Lanka where India play a tri-series in August with South Africa being the third team.

"Bahut kam series hai jo hum Sri Lanka mein jeet ker aaye hain. I think ye ek opportunity hai, ek challenge hai hamari team ke liye ki hum wahan per bhi accha kare. Hum abhi accha khel rahe hain. West Indies mein bhi ek-do matches bahut close the. One-Day mein close match kisi bhi team ke side ja sakta hai. So I don't think that West Indies mein jo hamara performance tha wo bahut jayada influence karega Sri Lanka ki series ko. Apart from that ki hame ek favour hai ki hum slow tracks per khel ker aa rahe hain. Wo hame help karega (We have not played well in Sri Lanka. Now we have an opportunity to do well there. In West Indies some of the ODIs were very close. We have already played a series on slow tracks, so that will help us)," he added.

Last time Dhoni toured Sri Lanka, he had a rather quiet tour by his standards. Keeping wickets on the slow turners of the Emerald Isle proved difficult and he would certainly like to change that this time around.
