BANGALORE: Prison Minister A Narayanaswamy on Friday said that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa neither went out of jail to perform ‘homa’ or used his mobile phone as reported in a section of the media.“I have verified with officers of the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail and I have been told that Yeddyurappa did not go out. He is also not using a cell phone. Rules of the prison are applicable to everybody, including the former CM,” he addressed the media.Narayanaswamy said he was convinced by the reply given by the jail authorities on whether Yeddyurappa went out of the jail to perform pooja and ‘homa’. “There is no truth in such reports (that he ventured out),” the minister added. He asserted, “Whatever is to be provided as per the jail manual is being given. In fact, the former chief minister himself had insisted that he stay in the jail instead of spending time in hospital.”
