CUTTACK: In a shocking incident, a youth ran amok at Dahigaon village under 42 Mouza region of Cuttack city late on Thursday night hacking his father to death along with a cow and calf over resistance of the family to his alleged love affair and marriage.
The 21-year-old Ketan Bhoi has been caught by the police. According to reports, trouble and quarrels had been taking place in the Bhoi household for the last few days over his insistence on getting married to a girl of the same village.

Ketan's father Baju Bhoi (72) and other family members had disapproved of his love affair with the girl and had been steadfast in refusing him permission to marry her. Ketan had earlier worked in Mumbai as a plumber but had returned and was living in the village for the last three years.

But he came back allegedly in a completely intoxicated state late in the night and engaged in a verbal duel with the family members.

Ketan's elder brother Sanatan also was awakened from his slumber and when he came outside, he was chased by the blood thirsty youth. He, however, managed to escape and ran through the village to safety.
