New Delhi: The PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday cited Priyanka Vadera's Vellore jail visit as a lesson in political reconciliation.
He said this when he was asked at a press conference why he was thinking of including in his plan of "national reconciliation", the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), which lost the February elections.
At a press conference he was speaking about the inclusion of the Pakistan Muslim League(Q) in his plan of "national reconciliation".
Zardari who had described PML(Q) as Qatil League after the assassination of his wife Benazir said there are big lessons to be learnt from a larger democracy.
Priyanka Vadera's visit to the Vellore jail has had implications across the LoC.
"After [all these] years, Priyanka Gandhi goes to jail, and she meets with the people who sent her father to his death," Mr. Zardari said.
Zardari said the PPP did not believe in the politics of revenge, and repeated the line made famous by his son Bilawal after Benazir's killing, "Democracy is the best revenge."
