Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon’s time-travel romance series, Love Runner, concluded after 16 episodes of laughter, love and emotions. While it was disheartening for fans to say goodbye to their favourites Im Sol and Ryu Sun Jae, the ending couldn’t have been more satisfying. At a time when the tVN original series is receiving a lot of love, reports suggest that the filming days were equally challenging and hectic.
Actress Jung Young Joo, who played Im Sol’s (Kim Hye Yoon) mother, spoke to Zum and opened up about the struggles that the actors faced during the brutal filming conditions. Young Joo also praised the show’s leading couple, adding that she feels proud of them just like a mother.
In a conversation with the South Korean outlet, Jung Young Joo recalled how the shooting used to end every day at 2 AM, following which the cast had to be back on the sets again by 6 AM, taking a toll on the actors. “We had no time to rest, so sometimes we had to go to the ER for IV drips. Sometimes, we would literally be out of tears because we cried so much during the shoot,” she added.
During this, she also praised co-stars Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon and said, “They shot swimming scenes, went into a lake in the middle of winter, and even filmed in the rain. They went through a lot. I have not birthed them or raised them, but I do feel so proud of them. I support them a lot.”
Well, it seems like the hard work and labour paid off, leading the show to secure top spots and set new records in Korea.
