New Delhi: Designer Siddhartha Tytler, son of politician Jagdish Tytler, showcased bridal ensembles for both men and women at the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016 here.
At the five-day fashion extravaganza, organized by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), which concluded on Sunday, Siddhartha said that he enjoys doing Indian designs hence his collection was a bridal line.
“I have been showcasing western wear for many years now, so I wanted to do different. I enjoy doing Indian designs now and since Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) gave me an opportunity to do a solo show, so I took it up,” Siddhartha told reporters.
The collection included sophisticated wedding sherwani suits and a range of well-fitted waistcoats and bridal kurtas. Pieces for women comprised of royalty-inspired jackets, kali lehengas, anarkalis, saris and elegant gowns.
The designer’s signature style boasts of the intricate appliqué technique, bold stripwork as well as precious crystals and elaborate sequin work.
The colour palette varied from subtle creams, beiges and vintage rose to rich rustic colors such as steel greys and maroons.
“My bride is empowered and free-thinking. She has confidence in her ability to be glamorous and strong at the same time and this collection is meant for them,” said the designer who also got the support from his father who was cheering for him while sitting in the front row.
There was a lot of shimmer in the collection and the designer said that he “loves it”
“That will never go from my designs,” he said.
