Often on the streets of London, a man can be seen selling Kolkata's famous snack Jhalmuri. London-based chef Angus Deenon has carved his own niche in the world of street food.
Jhalmuri, a dish of spiced puffed rice which is garnished with chopped boiled potatoes, tomatoes, coconut and green chillies happens to be one of the most delicious snacks from the rich culture of Kolkata. It has made its to the favorites' list of a lot of foreigners, courtesy Angus' unique way pf presentation.
Naming his stall as ‘The Everybody Love Love Jhalmuri Express’, he started selling it on London streets and the kind of response he got from people made his even more confident.
As per his website, apart from its easy portability, durability; he chose Jhalmuri because that was the only dish he felt confident in cooking as there isn't any cooking involved. He moves around different streets with a vibrant trolley decorated with colorful items including various tins that are attached.
Today, it's not just Jhalmuri that he offers but Lassi, Dhoklas, Chai and Ghugni chaat are some of the delicacies he has included in his menu list.
