Alia Bhatt Reveals Daughter Raha Calls Ranbir ‘Papa Bhatt’: ‘I Am A Kapoor, He Is A Bhatt’
Alia addressed the buzz around adding Ranbir Kapoor’s surname, jokingly clarifying, “It was like a gag,” while sharing adorable anecdotes about her daughter Raha calling Ranbir “Papa Bhatt.”

Sister-in-laws Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt are always a treat to listen to, with Kareena’s candidness and Alia’s quick wit making their conversations engaging. When the two sat down for the first episode of What Women Want Season 5 on Mirchi Plus, it was no surprise that the chat flowed into some intriguing territory.

Recently, Alia made headlines when she mentioned adding Ranbir Kapoor’s surname to her name. This revelation happened during her appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. When Kareena asked her about it, Alia quickly responded, “It was like a gag.” The comment was initially a playful response to Sunil Grover’s act on the show, but Alia’s clarification left some wondering whether she had officially adopted the Kapoor surname. Alia, without letting things get awkward, added, “Ranbir is a Bhatt, and I am a Kapoor.”

In a cute twist, Alia brought up her daughter Raha to shift the conversation. She shared that Raha sometimes calls Ranbir “Papa Bhatt” and amusingly revealed, “Even today, she called me Alia Kapoor. She keeps changing my name also.”

Alia is currently enjoying the success of Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by Karan Johar. Despite the film being involved in some controversy—Divya Khossla accused the team of Jigra of fudging box-office numbers and called the film a ‘copy’ of her prison-break drama Savi—Jigra continues to perform well in theatres.

News18 gave the film 4.6 stars. An excerpt from the review read, “Even at 2 hours 35 minutes, Jigra makes for an exhilarating ride. It rarely drops pace and keeps you engaged throughout the narrative. The final jailbreak sequence in the second half will push you toward the edge of your seat and leave you biting your nails. You’ll find yourself wishing and hoping and your heart beating for a bloody and bruised Satya to win against the whole world against all odds. And the background score by Achint Thakkar is like an icing on the cake.”

Looking ahead, Alia Bhatt is set to star in YRF’s next spy universe instalment Alpha, and fans are eagerly awaiting her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, where she will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
