Arshad Warsi Makes BIG Claims, Recalls Boney Kapoor's Production Paid Him Less: 'I Went to Get My Cheque...'
Arshad Warsi, news for his comments on Prabhas in Kalki 2898 AD, has also claimed that Boney Kapoor's production house underpaid him in 1993.

Boney is back in the spotlight, but not for the best reasons. After Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan flopped at the box office in April, Boney found himself in a legal mess when a vendor sued him over unpaid dues. The vendor claimed that the producer had delayed a Rs 1 crore payment for two years, and the court eventually ordered Boney to pay Rs 96 lakh. Now, similar issues have resurfaced, with actor Arshad Warsi calling out Boney’s production house, as reported by Hindustan Times.

In a no-holds-barred chat on Unfiltered by Samdish’s YouTube channel, Arshad Warsi spilled some details about being short-changed by Boney Kapoor’s production house. The actor, who was hired as a choreographer for the Sridevi and Anil Kapoor starrer Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), shared that he had quoted Rs 1 lakh for a song that would take 4 days to shoot. “The movie was done, and Pankaj Parasher had been called to do a song. I was choreographing plays and ad films at the time, but Pankaj told Boney Kapoor that he wants me to do the song, so I agreed,” he recalled.

The producers asked him to wrap it up in 3 days instead, and he delivered. But when he went to pick up his cheque, he was stunned to find just Rs 75,000 waiting for him. He added, “A production guy asked me how much I’ll charge, and I told him Rs 1 lakh is my going rate. He asked me how long I’ll take, and I told him four days at the very least. He requested me to finish the song sooner, because shooting for four days would increase costs. I told him I’ll try my best, and we worked very hard to get the song done, but we finished in three days. I thought that the production would be happy. I went to get my cheque, and they gave me Rs 75,000. I said, ‘I just saved you an entire day’s shoot, you should pay me more!’ He said, ‘No, for four days it’s Rs 1 lakh, and for three days it’s Rs 75,000’.”

When Arshad Warsi asked why he was paid less than agreed, the production team explained that the Rs 1 lakh fee was for four days of work. Since he finished in three days, they deducted Rs 25,000. Arshad noted that with managers and lawyers involved now, deals are more secure, and he hopes this will prevent others from facing similar issues.

Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi is in the news for revealing that he didn’t like Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. “Prabhas was like a joker, Amitabh Bachchan was unbelievable.” he said during the same chat.
