The much-awaited film about F1 and cars is all set for its theatrical release. Apple’s delayed Formula 1-inspired film starring Brad Pitt will be released in June 2025. The yet-to-be-titled film has been made under the banner of Apple Original Films, collaborating with Formula 1 and the Top Gun: Maverick director-producer duo of Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton’s Dawn Apollo Films is also involved.
On Tuesday, June 18, Apple Original Films released a joint statement with Formula 1 and confirmed that the film will have an international release on June 25, 2025, and on June 27, 2025, in North America. “Promising to immerse viewers in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1, the film will star Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to the sport and Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP – a fictional 11th team on the grid. Described as a landmark for the sport and cinema, it has been filmed in real-time during Grand Prix around the world and involves the F1 community, including all 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA, and race promoters,” the statement read.

The Formula 1 movie will also be shown in Imax, pitting it against the opening of M3GAN 2.0.
While the film’s production began in 2023, it will continue to unfold at this summer’s British Grand Prix and several other races. before finally concluding at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December.
Cast And Crew Of The Formula 1 Movie
With Brad Pitt in the lead role, the film’s star-studded cast also features Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Kosinski directs and produces the film, along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner will also produce the film under Plan B Entertainment, and Lewis Hamilton under Dawn Apollo Films.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has been a part of the project since its early days, is very thrilled to be part of the project.
“Racing movies, I feel like it’s very, very hard to capture them. I think if you go back to Steve McQueen, for example, back then they would have men laying on the front of the car with the camera, you know, like, or have a big camera on top of the helmet, whereas now we’ve got all this amazing new technology. So I feel like Joe, honestly, I think he’s going to blow people away,” he said on the YouTube series Hot Ones.
