A prominent figure in the South Indian film industry, Dulquer Salmaan is preparing for the release of his upcoming Lucky Baskhar, a Telugu film. As per the latest update on the project, the makers have postponed the release of the film.
Going by the earlier reports, Lucky Baskhar was expected to release on September 7, coinciding with the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. However, the production banner behind the film released an official statement, announcing the new date for its release. According to Sithara Entertainments, the film is now set to have its global release on October 31 this year, on the occasion of Diwali.
Sithara Entertainments took to their official X handle to share the announcement. It was shared with the tweet, “Postponing releases can impact social media reputation, but it’s essential for our film’s quality! #LuckyBaskhar is set to make your Diwali special in theaters worldwide. According to the announcement, the makers have taken the decision to give the audience only the best version of the project. Furthermore, they are hoping to release the film on a pan-India level, only after ensuring quality dubbing in multiple languages. The announcement concluded with the words, “We need some more time to achieve the quality we aspire to. With a heavy heart we have decided to postpone the film.”
Lucky Baskhar is directed as well as written by Venky Atluri. Dulquer Salmaan will be seen in the titular role along with Meenakshi Chaudhary, Hyper Aadi and Surya Sreenivas. It is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The music in the film is composed by G V Prakash Kumar while the editor is Naveen Nooli and Nimish Ravi is handling the cinematography. Set in the late 80s, the film revolves around an ordinary bank cashier whose life turns upside down when he gets ahold of money beyond comprehension.
