After being hit by multiple delays, Euphoria Season 3 is finally happening. After the previous season finished airing, the show was renewed for the next part in 2022. However, due to understandable factors like the death of Angus Cloud (who played drug dealer Fezco) and the Hollywood strikes, the production was pushed back. The makers are yet to begin filming for Euphoria 3. While details about the third season are not known, it was earlier confirmed that Euphoria 3 will have a time jump, leaving viewers with a lot of questions.
HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys recently addressed the discussions around what’s going on with season 3 of the Sam Levinson series, further confirming that the core cast will return.
Euphoria 3 Will Have A Time Jump
Mentioning that Sam Levinson is working on the series, Casey Bloys spoke to Variety and said that there will be a lot of “back and forth” stuff. “One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn’t want to have it in high school anymore. That’s where it was set, and what made sense then? So, when you take it out of that, there’s a lot of back and forth about where to set it, how far in the future to set it, and all that stuff. But I think he’s got a take that she’s excited about, and he’s busy writing,” he explained.
Bloys also stated that the original cast including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer, will return to reprise their roles. However, Barbie Ferreira, known for playing Kat Hernandez, has already bid adieu to her character, while the unexpected demise of Angus Cloud confirms another exit.
With this, it is now confirmed that Rue and her friends are returning, but not to East Highland High School.
More about Euphoria
Across the previous two seasons, Euphoria was set in a high school, focusing on a spiralling teen addict and her classmates. The show navigated social issues like domestic violence, drug use and even human trafficking amid love triangles, with teen angst also playing a significant role in the story.
The second season concluded in February 2022, with Zendaya’s Rue hitting rock bottom after a relapse.
