The House of the Dragon is a prequel to the Game of Thrones franchise.

Game of Thrones fans were in for a treat on June 16. How, you ask? There was a House of stark connection. Fans couldn’t keep calm when they saw Cregan Stark — the Lord of Winterfell in one of the episodes of House of Dragons Season 2. The show, which premiered on Sunday, has been receiving promising reviews from fans and critics alike. For context, the House Of The Dragon is a prequel to the superhit Games of Thrones franchise. Its plot is set almost two centuries before the Game of Thrones begins. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood.

And, now Cregan Stark as the leader of House Of Stark has everyone excited. The episode opens to Cregan Stark at the northern border of Westeros. We can spot Jacaerys Verlaryon, Rhaenyra’s eldest son marching towards him. The two discuss the possibility of war against Alicent and Aegon. Cregan Stark is portrayed by Tom Taylor, who is best known for his performance as Jake Chambers in The Dark Tower.

Going by the first episode it is clear that Cregan Stark will be a vital character in the fantasy drama series.

As per Deadline, season 2, also known as the Dance of the Dragons, will revolve around the war between the Green and Black Councils, who stand behind King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. The story will unfold over eight episodes of one hour each, as opposed to the 10 episodes of season one. The last episode of season two will air on August 4. A new episode of House of the Dragon season 2 will premier every Sunday on HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET. In India, people can watch it on Jio Cinema.

The second season also marks the return of Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, and Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole. The new cast members include Tom Taylor as Cregan Stark, Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, and Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower.
