After leaving a strong impression with his portrayal of James Bond, Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan is all set to return to the spy genre. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is set to star in Simon Barry’s upcoming film titled A Spy’s Guide to Survival. The film will be produced under the banner of Uri Singer’s Passage Pictures along with Barry’s Reality Distortion Field.
It is pertinent to note that the film will mark Simon Berry’s directorial debut. Earlier, he served as a showrunner and created for Warrior Nun and Ghost Wars and has spent most of his career in television with his last writing credit in The Art of War (2000).
Speaking about signing Pierce Brosnan, the director expressed his admiration for the actor and said, “As a longtime Pierce Brosnan fan, I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside someone I admire for their craft, character, and humanity.”
On the other hand, producer Uri Singer also joined in the conversation stating that Brosnan perfectly fits the role and that the team is now excited to see how it works out for them.
Details about Pierce Brosnan’s next spy film
The film will revolve around the story of a reclusive and retired spy who is brought out of his hiding by his enigmatic new neighbour, leading to both of them digging their secrets in the process. In a conversation with the outlet, Barry revealed that the upcoming film is a collective idea of him and his father.
While more details about the film’s storyline have been kept under wraps, the premise suggests that his character will go through a series of unexpected challenges after he is brought back to the world of being a spy.
Pierce Brosnan’s other projects
Although Brosnan didn’t star in as many James Bond movies as more prolific stars, the 70-year-old has still managed to captivate audiences with his performances in GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies. Besides that, the actor has also worked in a series of other well-known films including Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson and Fast Charlie.
Besides A Spy’s Guide to Survival, Brosnan has also signed onto several upcoming projects including the Four Letters of Love, The Unholy Trinity, and The Thursday Murder Club.
