Janhvi Kapoor Says Gossips on Reddit Are 'Scary': 'Khushi Is Hooked on to It, But I Want to...'

Janhvi Kapoor has revealed that she is not a big fan of Reddit as celebrities are subjected to “extreme scrutiny” on the platform. During an AMA session on Reddit, Janhvi made some interesting revelations about her personal as well as professional life including her upcoming film ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’.

When a user asked Janhvi if she lurks on Reddit like many other celebrities, the actress said, “I actually don’t. Honestly, I feel like I’ve fleetingly heard, like, threads, I think, like, threads and theories on Reddit, and it’s always kind of scared me a little bit. The scrutiny, I guess, on Reddit, it seems a bit extreme. I think my sister’s (Khushi Kapoor) quite in sync and hooked on to what’s going on Reddit, and sometimes I’ll ask her what the tea is on Reddit, but I myself don’t. I mean, I don’t know how, I think I tried once, but I just couldn’t understand how to, like, see what the threads are, all of these things. But no, I think I want to protect myself from it a bit.”

Earlier, Alia Bhatt was in the news for allegedly “lurking a lot” on Reddit when she spoke out about several “misconceptions” that people have about her, during her appearance on Koffee With Karan season 8. “It’s the age of the internet. Someday I have got buccal fat surgery, someday I’m whitening my skin, someday I’m having marriage issues. Misconceptions are misconceptions, so they don’t bother me,” Alia had said on the show.

A clip of this particular segment from the episode went insanely viral on Reddit. One user said, “She is so much invested in social media it is very obvious.” Another one wrote, “Yet it sounds like it bothers her very much.” “It does bother you dear. Poore episode mei issi group ki baatien kari hai. Alia you are reading this as well I know,” a third user said.
