KGF: Rajamouli Proud of Yash's Success, Says 'Bus Driver's Son Became Top Star of Kannada Cinema'
Rajamouli said that he was proud of Yash's success and the way the actor struggled his way to be where he is today.

After a glittering trailer launch ceremony in Bengaluru, the makers of KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) hosted a pre-release event on Sunday in Hyderabad. KGF starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Vasishta N Simha, Ramya Krishnan and Malavika Avinash is a period drama that traces the history of gold mining and the mafia running it in the generous fields of Karnataka’s Kolar region.

Baahubali director SS Rajamouli was the guest of honour at the event, organised by producer Korrapati Ranganatha Sai, who has acquired the theatrical rights to KGF's Telugu version.

Addressing the gathering at the event, Rajamouli said that he was proud of Yash's success and the way the actor struggled his way to be where he is today, adding, "a bus driver’s son has become a top star in Kannada industry."

Talking about Rajamouli, Yash recently said, “We have to accept that Mr Rajamouli changed the whole scenario of Indian cinema because he broke the barrier of what regional cinema could do. I have been a huge fan of his work and we should always accept the fact that he gave us the platform, but of course, we always believe that we have a lot of potential and our talents are capable enough to compete with the rest of the people. KGF is just a beginning."

KGF will hit the screens on December 21, 2018 alongside Shah Rukh Khan's Zero.
