South’s renowned comedian, Soori, is one of the most prominent actors. In the initial stages of his career, he started with small roles but later made it big with his choice of scripts. He continued to enthral the audience with his charm, wit and perfect coming timing to star alongside A-listers of the Tamil industry. He gained recognition for his comic roles, but it was director Vetrimaan who helped him break free from being typecasted with his film Viduthalai Part 1, which left his fans in awe. His recently released film is Garudan, which further gained appreciation and accolades. The makers held a successful meeting to celebrate the moment. But it is M Sasikumar whose speech has gone viral.
After the immense success of Vidhuthalai, which left fans of Soori impressed with his par excellence acting chops as the protagonist, it quickly became a huge hit. His undeniable acting skills earned him a sequel to the film. Now, with the release of Garudan, it looks like the actor is a promising hero on the rise who once again won the hearts of the cine-goers with his performance in R. S. Durai Senthilkumar’s action thriller.
The film was a huge commercial hit gaining appreciation from critics as well. It prompted the makers to hold a successful press meet and celebrate the achievement. At the meet, Sasikumar stated, “When producer Kumar told me that this was going to be a success meet, I told him please change this to a Thanksgiving meet as there is a popular perception that success meets are held for films that don’t run.” He opined that people do this because they are afraid of defeat. He further shared, “ If you are defeated, you must admit it. Only when you admit a defeat can you analyse and find out what went wrong and then succeed.” He concluded his speech by crediting the producer for roping him (Sasikumar) in the project and showing confidence in the film.
Garudan featured some breathtaking action sequences that kept the audience glued to the screen. It is jointly produced by Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company and K. Kumar’s Lark Studios and is headlined by Soori, M. Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan. It also stars other actors like Roshini Haripriyan, Sshivada, Revathi Sharma, Samuthirakani, Vadivukkarasi, R. V. Udayakumar and Mime Gopi in supporting roles. It is centred around Sokkan, a trusted friend of Aadhi and Karuna. The film revolves around themes like friendship, betrayal, politics, loyalty and enmity.
