Currently, the legendary actor is working on his upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Several reports have emerged which state that Rajinikanth will be teaming up with the popular director Karthik Subbaraj. Rajinikanth and Karthik Subbaraj earlier worked together on the film Petta which was highly praised by the audience and critics. People in large numbers gathered in the theatres to watch the film. The film reportedly recorded a worldwide box office collection of over Rs 200 crores. The actor and the director will reportedly team up again. There is no official announcement regarding the collaboration.
As per reports, the veteran actor has asked Nelson Dilipkumar to write a script for the second part of the film Jailer. Rajinikanth requested the director after the film received a massive success. The film reportedly earned over Rs 600 crores globally. The reports further stated that Nelson Dilipkumar has already started to work on the script of Jailer 2. However, the actor or the director has yet to make the official announcement.
Rajinikanth will be seen in the film Vettaiyan under the direction of T.J. Gnanavel, which is expected to be released on October 10. The filming of the process is underway. The film also features popular actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Rohini. The film is produced by G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran and A. Subaskaran while the cinematography is done by S.R. Kathir.
