Rajinikanth’s blockbuster hit Sivaji: The Boss is nearing 17 years of its release, still remembered as the superstar’s one of the most iconic films. One of the highlights of the film was the girls Angavai Sangavai, who made the audience laugh with their screen time. The latest photo of the twin actresses is gaining attention online.
In the film Sivaji: The Boss, the actresses introduced as Angavai Sangavai, daughters of a neighbour, became a comedic point due to their dark complexions. However, this scene garnered mixed reactions from the audience, with some finding it harmless and others deeming it insensitive. A recent viral image of Angavai Sangavai shows them almost unrecognisable from their on-screen personas.
The image depicts the sisters seated together, both wearing matching black skirts paired with different-coloured shirts. The sister in the foreground wears a red, half-sleeved shirt, while the one behind her sports an orange full-sleeved shirt with a black stole. They portrayed the daughters of Solomon Pappayya’s character Thondaimaan in the film.
Sivaji: The Boss was released on June 15, 2007, directed by S. Shankar featuring superstar Rajinikanth in the titular role. The cast also includes Shriya Saran as the female lead, along with Vivek, Suman, Raghuvaran and others. Produced by M. S. Guhan and M. Saravanan under the banner of AVM Productions, the film’s music was composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography by K. V. Anand and editing by Anthony.
Upon its release, Sivaji: The Boss became the highest-grossing Indian film of the time, receiving positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. It was made on a budget of Rs 60 crore to Rs 80 crore and went on to make more than Rs 125 crore at the box office.
