The burqa-clad woman who threatened Salim Khan citing Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has been nabbed. The man who was with her during the incident has also been nabbed, Mumbai Police confirmed. They also revealed that the incident took place on Wednesday morning, September 18.
Police sources revealed that the primary investigation was done and it has been said the duo does not have a connection with the Bishnoi gang. They were trying to ‘tease’ Salim Khan. In an official statement to the press, the Mumbai Police shared details about the incident.
“When they got tired and sat on the promenade in front of Windermere Building, an unidentified scooty driver from Galaxy who was going towards the band stand and a veiled woman sitting behind him took a U-turn on his scooty. They parked the scooter close to Salim Khan and said, “Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?” The escaped the venue after giving him the threat,” the police said in a statement.
The writer noticed the scooter number was 7444 but couldn’t see the fill number plate. “After recording the detailed statement, a case was registered against the scooter driver and the veiled woman,” the police said.
The incident took place months after gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan’s house. The actor, who faces death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang, lives in Bandra and in April this year, two men fired gunshots at his building and fled the scene on their bike. The police eventually nabbed them and were questioned. The men were identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal. It was reported that they were hired by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
Salman recorded his statement after the attack. He said he slept late on the previous night and was woken up to a bullet’s sound. He later found a bullet in his balcony.
In June 2022, Salim Khan found a letter, threatening him and Salman Khan. Following the threat, Salman was given Y+ security. His family’s security was tightened after the gunshots were fired this year.
