Sarbjit Singh's life as a prisoner and his subsequent death in Pakistan jail has always hit a raw nerve among us Indians. An innocent man was accused of spying and being a RAW agent without getting chance to prove his innocence is a story that is heart wrenching to say the least.
Omung Kumar narrates this tragic story through his new film 'Sarbjit' which features Randeep Hooda in the lead role. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays his feisty, strong sister Dalbir Kaur who never stopped fighting the system to get her brother freed.
The trailers promise a power packed, emotionally charged film with super performances from its cast which also includes Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar. Will 'Sarbjit' be able to create an unforgettable impact on viewers? Shomini Sen of News18.com is inside the theatre to find out.

10:27 AM: The film wastes no time in establishing the main plot. No frills, not too much of side stories. Which is good. #Sarbjit
10:38 AM: The torture that was inflicted on Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan was brutal to say the least. The film highlights that brilliantly. #Sarbjit

11:12 AM: In spite of little inconsistencies here and there, first half of #Sarbjit leave an impact. Randeep Hooda is shining in his role so far.
11:31 AM: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Punjabi accent is a bit inconsistent. Time and again the shudh Hindi kicks in her vocabulary. #Sarbjit

11:40 AM: Another word 'kafir'. I really wonder how many Pakistani lawyers speak such chaste Urdu now. #Sarbjit
11:49 AM: Every time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gets really angry on screen, she grunts. #Sarbjit
11:59 AM: Monologues on Indo-Pak being bhai-bhai-yet-why-the-difference are in ample amount in the second half. #Sarbjit
12:26 PM: The film flounders in the second half with unnecessary melodrama. #Sarbjit
12:29 PM: Aishwarya Rai delivers mostly a powerful performance. Her Punjabi accent is a bit inconsistent though. #Sarbjit
12:30 PM: Wish they had used Richa Chadha's talent a bit more in the film though. #Sarbjit
12:30 PM: The film is not jingoistic and shows the good and bad side of both the countries. #Sarbjit
12:31 PM: The film, though belongs to @RandeepHooda who delivers his finest. #Sarbjit
12:32 PM: Despite some glaring flaws in scripting and execution, #Sarbjit is a story that needs to be known
