Sunitha Upadrashta first marked her debut in the industry as a singer with the film Gulabi in 1995 with the song Ee Velalo Neevu. She has sung in many other films like Sri Sita Ramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi, Anaganaga O Kurraadu, Apparao Driving School, Rainbow and Om Namo Venkatesaya to name a few. She is a recipient of nine Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards South in various categories. She has also received a National Award from All India Radio at the age of just 15. She was honoured with the Lata Mangeshkar Best Singer Award for 2011 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
She tied the knot to Rama Krishna Veerapaneni. He is a prominent businessman in India. He began his career as an investor in the digital rights of Telugu films and promoted them on various digital media platforms. In 2008, he founded his company- Mango Mass Media and also released a few Telugu films in the United States of America (USA) for Telugu-speaking audiences on the My Mango TV.
