Thalapathy Vijay Condemns Tragic Hooch Deaths In TN, Calls For Govt Accountability
Vijay, the Thaveka leader, has shared a post on his X account, slamming the Government of the State of Tamil Nadu and requesting them to address the Kallakurichi Hooch Tragedy.

In a saddening incident, more than 25 have succumbed to death after consuming illegal liquor in the State of TN. Several videos of suffering families are making rounds on television news and social media. Amid this chaotic tragedy, South actor Thalapathy Vijay has also come forth and expressed his disdain about this through his X account. The post prompted a lot of X users to comment and express their feelings. He wants the government to take responsibility for this incident and take accountability for it. The lives of people are important, and the government should address people.

“The news of the death of more than 25 people after consuming fake liquor in Karunapuram area of Kallakurichi District is shocking and heartbreaking. I offer my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray to God for the speedy recovery of those undergoing treatment, ” read his post.

He further continued, “The fact that such an incident has occurred again shows the indifference of the Government administration when it has not yet fully recovered from the tragedy of losing many lives due to the same incident last year.”

“I strongly request that the Tamil Nadu Government should take strict precautionary measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

This post spurred reactions from the people not only belonging to the State of Tamil Nadu but also people from across the country as followers of Actor Vijay.

Today, the High Court of Madras has directed the Tamil Nadu Government on how they would choose to address this matter. The High Court has stated that the Government has to explain how the Kallakurichi Hooch Tragedy that claimed the lives of 47 people has been allowed to happen again. Despite the 22 deaths that were reported last year due to consumption of bogus liquor at Marakkanam in Vilupuram District and Chegalpattu District. These questions were raised during the hearing of a plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the tragedy. The plea was raised by AIADMK legal wing secretary I.S.Inbadurai in the public interest.
