Popular K-drama True Beauty continues to charm fans, thanks to its gripping story and sweet chemistry between the lead actors. Recently, fans received an unexpected surprise, as the main cast members, Moon Ga-young, Cha Eunwoo, Kang Min-ah and Lee Sang-jin came together to support Lee Se-mi, in her latest play, Flowers, Stars Pass By. ASTRO singer shared photos of their reunion on Instagram, which left fans feeling emotional and nostalgic seeing their favourite actors together under one roof. Despite the happy occasion, fans were missing Hwang In-youp, who was the only actor missing from the get together.
Although Lee Se-mi was featured in only one photo, Cha Eunwoo kept fans entertained with a series of goofy pictures with Moon Ga-young, Kang Min-ah and Lee Sang-jin. The South Korean singer also shared a picture of the True Beauty stars taken in a photo booth along with a clip of Lee Se-mi from her play. Eunwoo’s comment section was filled with fans demanding season 2, while others missed Hwang In-youp. Even though Hwang In-youp wasn’t present at the reunion, he made fans smile by leaving a comment in the post, that read, “Next time I’ll go with you,” followed by a red heart emoji.
Lee Se-mi, who recently collaborated with Cha Eun-woo on the 2024 drama Wonderful World, joined Moon Ga-young in the upcoming romantic drama Black Salt Dragon, alongside Choi Hyun-wook, and Kwak Si-yang. The show, which is scheduled to release next year, is based on a popular webtoon. The series will explore the story of a man and woman who first connect through their online game characters during school and 16 years later, they reunite in real life as boss and employee. Besides their roles in True Beauty, Lee Se-mi and Moon Ga-young also shared the screen in 2011 drama Heartstrings.
True Beauty revolves around Lim Ju-kyung, played by Moon Ga-young, a high school student who has always been insecure about her looks. To cover her insecurities, she begins wearing heavy makeup, which makes her look stunning, leading others to believe it is her natural face. The story follows Ju Kyung’s high school life as she struggles to keep her true face hidden and works towards her dream of becoming a cosmetologist.
