The reality show Bigg Boss Kannada 10 ended last month with Karthik Mahesh walking off with the trophy and winner’s prize money. As is typical of the show, many contestants who did not even make it to the semi-final endeared themselves to the audience through their histrionics and gameplay inside the show. One particular contestant who won hearts was Michael Ajay, the Nigerian-based Kannadiga who gained a lot of followers.
Having been born and brought up in Nigeria, Michael Ajay spoke limited Kannada and throughout his stint in the show, he was seen trying to pick up the language better from his co-contestants, which greatly endeared him to Kannadigas. And looks like he has enthralled Kannadigas once again with a new tattoo that he has got inked on his arm.
Two days back, Michael posted a video on his Instagram handle with the caption ‘Tattoo reveal’ with the video showing the camera pan to his arm to reveal the words ‘Manninna Maga’. The term means “son of the motherland” in Kannada, which speaks to Michael’s abiding passion and commitment to the language.

What acts as a catalyst to the feeling of pride and brotherhood is the song Kannadiga from the film Geetha, sung by the late Puneeth Rajkumar, playing in the background as he shows off his tattoo. It’s interesting to note that Bigg Boss Kannada 10 participant Neethu Vanajakshi, Michael’s fellow competitor, is the tattoo artist.
His tribute to the Kannada language has been greatly appreciated from all corners as it goes beyond mere body art and symbolises his embracement of the Kannada culture. He is a model and fitness trainer by profession. He was also a contestant on MTV Roadies Revolution where he showed off his athletic abilities. He also showed off his physical prowess in the Bigg Boss show and charmed everyone with his personality.
