Tamil actor Mohan has had a long and illustrious career, earning him the sobriquet Silver Jubilee Hero, as many of his films attained Silver Jubilee status. Additionally, he is also called Mic Mohan due to his having played a singer using microphones in many films. Also, he is called Kokila Mohan, following his debut in 1977 with the film Kokila.
Due to his boyish looks and chocolate hero charm, Mohan had a sizable female following in the 80s and the 90s. Having maintained his stardom even during the peak era of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vijaykanth, Mohan was often mobbed during public events. However, there is one particular incident that he remembers about a die-hard female fan that touched his heart.
Mohan recently appeared in a lot of interviews to promote his most recent film Haraa that released last week. It marked Mohan’s return to the big screen after 14 years. During one of his interviews with a YouTube channel to promote Haraa, Mohan recalled an incident he encountered on a flight from Malaysia to India.
Mohan shared the experience of when he was flying from Malaysia to Chennai. A woman in her 40s introduced herself to him, saying, “I am your fan.” She was accompanied by her son. While the woman chatted happily with Mohan, her son prompted her, “Mom, take it out and show it.”
The woman then showed him her locket. When Mohan opened the locket, he was shocked to see his photo inside. The female fan explained, “Sir, I like you very much. That’s why I kept your photo in the locket.” She also said that she had confided in her husband about the same and he was okay with her having Mohan’s photo in her locket.
Mohan was astonished by the woman’s story and remarked on which husband would agree to such a thing. He mentioned that it was because of devoted fans like her that he has sustained in the cinema industry.
Mohan will soon be seen in Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film GOAT.
