When Neerja Bhanot's mother came to visit the sets of 'Neerja'

The big Friday release today is a bipoic on Neerja Bhanot's life- the airhostess who courageously sacrificed her life to save the passengers on a hijacked Pan Am flight. The spirited young woman's life has been depicted on screen wih Sonam Kapoor playing the titular role.

CNN-IBN spoke to her mother, Rama Bhanot last year when she visited the sets of 'Neerja' to wish the crew success. Mrs Bhanot passed away in 2015 December, months before she could see the finished film.

An important figure in the Bhanot family, Rama Bhanot, who is played in the film by Shabana Azmi, played an important role in getting the movie made. She even had suggested Sonam Kapoor name for 'Neerja'.
