Alia Bhatt Thinks Working Celeb Moms Get 'Too Much Importance': 'Khet Main Bhi Jaate Hain...'
Alia Bhatt said that it is normal for women to work and celebs are given too much importance for working after having a baby.

National Award-winning actress Alia Bhatt welcomed her first child with her husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor on November 6, 2022. Their daughter, named Raha Kapoor, will turn a year old on Monday. Ahead of Raha’s first birthday, Alia Bhatt attended an event in Delhi and said that celebrities who return to work after having a baby are given too much importance. Netizens are appreciating the actress for her recent statement.

Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Alia said, “I think we as celebrities maybe get asked this question a lot so we suddenly build up celebrities with ‘How has it been like being working parents or working mothers?’ But, women work ya.”

“You know, my nanny who comes to work has three kids of her own. Even the women who stay at home and work, that’s also work. Stay-at-home moms are also working a lot. Khet main bhi jaate hain agar toh bacche ko saath main leke jaate hain ya school main drop karke. Matlab, bohot normal cheez hai voh. Working is a very huge part of our culture, we’re workers. We work till the last breath,” Alia added.

She continued, “So, I think we’re giving ourselves or celebrities too much importance. But I have to be honest and say that you can’t do everything right. You can’t be a perfect parent, you just have to be enough. You just have to keep your priorities straight.”

“Of course, there are days when it’s difficult for me to leave her, and even for coming to Delhi today, I just want to keep kissing her face, I don’t want to leave her for a second. But voh hai and touchwood she’s okay and she’s okay. I’ll go back and get all my cuddles and make sure she’s not out of my sight,” Alia said.

Alia’s statement went viral online. One person commented, “Acknowledging their privilege is the least they can do. But that also most celebrities/rich people don’t so it’s refreshing to see this pov coming out from a celebrity.” Another added, “PR prepared answer or not.. but those lines that she said made me think highly of her. She was so considerate and appreciating about every other woman, something celebs (with God syndrome) don’t.”

One person commented, “Well said. Also, the way she talks about Raha is so wholesome.” Another added, “As she’s ageing she’s talking like a matured woman.” One person wrote, “The clarity and humility with which she spoke about this is refreshing.” One fan wrote, “Look how her face lights up when she talked about Raha at the end .”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia is currently shooting for Vasan Bala’s Jigra. Alia is also co-producing the film with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
