Ankita Lokhande shot to fame with the daily soap Pavitra Rishta and has entertained the audience with her acting skills in subsequent projects. She is currently participating in the reality show, Bigg Boss Hindi 17, along with her husband, entrepreneur Vicky Jain. Recently, Ankita made some disclosures related to her personal life and profession. Ankita revealed how she was paid Rs 2,000 per day when she started working as the lead in Pavitra Rishta. Ankita Lokhande made these revelations while talking to her co-contestant, comedian Munawar Faruqui. She said, “I was excited to get 50,000 credited to my bank account. I didn’t see that much money ever”. Ankita then spoke about her breakup with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. “My parents were my strength during that phase of my life. After my breakup, people used to question ‘who would marry Ankita?’ But my parents stood strong with me.”
Ankita also revealed that she was quite young when she made her debut in the showbiz industry. The Manikarnika actress had completed her 17th year and came to Mumbai when she was 18 years old. She, however, mentioned being very mature and aware of her age. Ankita said that she wouldn’t let anybody deceive and fool her. The actress also talked about being in a financial crisis. Ankita Lokhande shared how she had to choose between having food and participating in auditions because of budget constraints. She didn’t want to depend on her parents for a long time.
Pavitra Rishta was one of the longest-running and popular daily soaps, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Asha Negi, Amit Sarin, and Hiten Tejwani. This serial also became the talk of the town after Ankita’s relationship with Sushant became public. In an earlier interview with rediff.com, Ankita talked about her relationship with Sushant. The actress said that Sushant was the best thing that happened to her on the sets of Pavitra Rishta. Ankita said that initially they hardly had a conversation with each other. She added that gradually they realised they had something in common and then the equation changed.
Sushant died on June 14, 2020, reportedly by suicide.
